FAQ:
- Is Hedonism II a swinger’s resort?
Hedonism II is a nudist resort that is lifestyle (swinger) friendly. Aside from special theme weeks, in any given week you will find a mix of people that do or don’t. It varies, of course- but in our estimation it runs about 50-50. Just like any other activity, there are varying degrees of what people do or do not do- when you go- just be yourselves, do whatever it is you do, and you will have a great time. Most lifestylers tend to be on the non pushy side, and a simple “no, thank you” will suffice if you are not interested.
- What kind of people go to Hedonism II?
This is a question we hear all the time from friends out in the real world and people who have not yet been to the resort. The common answer you will hear is “Picture going to the grocery store- now think of all the people there- NAKED!” Think of all the different shapes, sizes, endowments, ages, what have you. That is what you can expect to see. There are very few people who fit the “Barbie and Ken” body type, but you will find that they too had apprehensions about the resort before they arrived as well. Generally the ages of guests ranges from 18 to 60 plus- with the majority being 30-55.
- Do I have to get naked outside at the resort?
No, of course not. Your vacation at Hedo II is all about what you want to do. If you have never been to a clothing optional resort before, we understand the apprehension about just dropping all your clothes-we were all there at one point. You will find that the resort is broken into three different areas- lovingly referred to by the resort and patrons as the Nude, the Prude, and the Quad. The nude is just what it implies: not clothing optional, but naked. The only exception to this is for the ladies to wear their bathing suit bottom should it be “that time”- and this is often under the scrutiny of the security guards. The prude is a regular clothed area- even bikini tops are supposed to be worn in the prude area. The Quad is the resort’s clothing optional area. You can get naked, or not. This pretty much guarantees that there is a spot for everyone to feel comfortable. Now, that said- you will see during your stay that the party is usually at the nude pool or in the quad. I have rarely seen more than a handful of people in the prude pool at any given time.
- Ok so I’ll get naked- how do I go about doing that?
We think the best answer to this is just to take a deep breath, drop em, and climb into the pool. Seriously- once you realize that no one is staring unless you are the lone person standing in the nude pool area fully clothed, it gets a lot easier.
- What does “all inclusive” mean at Hedonism II
“All inclusive” means you will not need a single penny once you arrive at the resort. All of your food and drink is covered in your package- including top shelf alcohol, late night buffets, snacks, etc... Along with that, scuba, snorkeling, sailboats, hobie cats, and many other activities are there for the free sampling. Spa packages such as hair, nails, massage, and the like are subject to extra fees.
- Will I see people having sex out in the open?
The security guards around the nude pool- often referred to as the “sex police” try to keep a lid on open sexual activity during daylight hours and the early evening. They don’t throw you out, but politely attempt to make you stop. Commonly referred to as PDA (public displays of affection), you will see many different types of interaction. At night you will likely see all kinds of activity in the hot tub and surrounding pool areas. But don’t worry, they drain and clean the hot tub every night, and the pool is subject to copious amounts of chlorine and filtration.
- What travel documents do I need?
You will need a valid passport to reenter the US. For more information about other countries entry and exit requirements go to www.travel.state.gov .
- Ok so , um…. with all those naked people- about half of them naked and female- what if my friend from down south decides to stand up and say hi?
This is a question that everyone asks at one point. The consensus is always “no worries”. You would think that most of the men would be walking around lightheaded from that condition all day long, but it just does not seem to happen. Without some extra stimulation, you will see that it is just not a problem.

- Is marijuana available? It is Jamaica after all.
Marijuana is a part of Jamaican and Rastafarian culture. It is not, in the strictest sense, legal in Jamaica. You will probably be approached before you even leave the airport to buy some. Very often the people asking “You ok?” are not in checking your welfare. You will see open use at the resort- usually with an attempt to be discreet. The Jamaican police does occasionally do sting operations to trap tourists – so please please please be careful! It is usually readily available at we are told are bargain prices.
- What is the weather like?
The weather in August when we go generally runs between 75 at night/early morning to nearly 90 in the afternoons. It can be pretty humid- after all it is surrounded by water and it gets warm. Sunscreen is an ABSOLUTE MUST! Even our veteran members have been known to burn their butt and end up in their room for a couple afternoons recovering. As it is a tropical area, afternoon thunderstorms are not uncommon. Like most Caribbean locales, the storms blow through, 10 minutes later the sun is back and shining- and the party is still going!
- Ok, so since we have never been there, how will we meet and get to know people?
Lucky you! If you decide to go with AWOL, you will have the advantage of getting to know your fellow members through the forums and weekly sessions in the chat room. Once you arrive- poof- instant friends- all the people you have spent time getting to know in type you can know get to know in person!
- Is it all couples? Can a single guy have fun? A single girl?
AWOL is an all inclusive group- we do not hold preference over couples or singles. We don’t segregate out our members based on lifestyle/race/origin, whatever. If you come with a good attitude, want to have fun, and be social with some great people- you will fit in just fine.
- What does it cost to join your group?
Nothing! The only thing we ask is that you give Castaways Travel a call to get a quote. Because of the relationship that Castaways shares with Superclubs, and specifically the Hedonism Resorts, they can offer you prices on your stay at Hedo at least 10% lower than you will find anywhere else!
